President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

As President and CEO of Urban Engineers of New York, William (Bill), oversees the Company’s overall operations. Bill has served as President and CEO, Board Chair and principal owner for over a decade with significant firm growth throughout his tenure. Bill also serves as principal-in-charge of major transportation programs, where he uses his 40+ years of major capital project experience to direct the firm’s program management services and successfully deliver award-winning projects to Urban’s clients.

Bill has played a key role in Program Management Oversight throughout the United States and is a national leader in managing large-scale projects, including New York City’s One World Trade Center, East Side Access, and the Second Avenue Subway, and more recently, major aviation programs at the PANYNJ. The East Side Access and the Second Ave Subway were among the largest public works projects built in America. Bill is a registered Professional Engineer in four states, and his in-depth knowledge and experience encompasses managing and engineering major infrastructure projects including tunnels, railways, and transportation systems.

Bill is inspired by his father, a construction company president, who exemplified determination throughout his life as a key to success. Bill actively gives back and serves on numerous national societies, committees, and boards, including the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) where he served on the national executive committee, New York Building Congress, Construction Management Association of America, Society of American Military Engineers, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at a local and national committee level. He has served as, president, committee chair, and director and has received numerous awards as Engineers of the Year in several jurisdictions and societies throughout his career.

Bill grew up in Nyack, NY, and earned his bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering from Clarkson University and master’s degree in engineering management from Drexel University. When Bill is not traveling for Urban, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kim and family at the beach, running, playing golf, playing pond hockey and exploring the world on biking trips.
