Senior Vice President and Director of Engineering
Matt Marquardt, UrbanNY’s Director of Engineering, oversees the firm’s engineering design services, including site/civil, structural, and MEP services, across the aviation, rail and transit, surface transportation, and buildings and development markets.
With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Matt’s expertise encompasses the design, inspection, and construction management of a variety of engineering assignments for both private and public clients. Having a background and practical experience in design and construction allows Matt to proactively guide our design teams toward practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
He is a registered professional engineer in 12 states. He has served as a board member or officer of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania, the American Society of Highway Engineers, the Villanova University Engineering Alumni Society, the PENJERDEL Council, and as Chair of the March of Dimes TB&C. He is also active with the American Society of Civil Engineers, Women’s Transportation Seminar, and IBTTA. Matt earned an MBA from Widener University and a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Villanova University.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He stays active by biking, walking, and skiing, and he regularly volunteers in his community by coaching soccer and softball. He also serves as a Eucharistic minister at his local church.
