Urban Engineers of New York named 2025 Best Companies to Work for in New York

NY State SHRM, Best Companies Group, BridgeTower Media, and Rochester Business Journal Announce 2025 Best Companies to Work for in New York

The New York State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, Best Companies Group, BridgeTower Media, and Rochester Business Journal have named Urban Engineers of New York, DPC #6 in the small companies category, as one of the 2025 Best Companies to Work for in New York.

Best Companies to Work for in New York is a research-driven program that examines a company’s practices, programs, and benefits and surveys its employees for their perspectives. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and used its expertise to determine the final rankings.

The best places of employment in New York are identified in three categories: small companies (15-99 employees), medium companies (100-249 employees), and large companies (250 or more employees). To be considered, companies must have at least 15 full-time or part-time employees working in New York; be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity; be a publicly or privately held business; have a facility in the State of New York, and have been in business for a minimum of one year.

Two parts were used to determine the rankings. The first evaluated each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, worth 75 percent of the total. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.

The winners will be honored April 10 at the Best Companies to Work for in New York celebration at the Hilton Albany, 40 Lodge St. in Albany. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a networking reception, followed by a plated dinner at 6:15 p.m. and then a Rock’ n ‘Roll-themed awards celebration, which will reveal the winner rankings at approximately 7 p.m. The hashtag is #BestCompaniesNY.

The 2025 Best Companies to Work for in NY will be profiled in the awards publication, distributed to the more than 10,000 members of the New York State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management.
